Free-to-list portal claims 800 new enquiries for agents in four weeks

A new global free-to-list property portal says it has secured 800 new property enquiries for estate agents in the last four weeks - its first milestone for growth.

Residential People, which launched in March and last month announced it had 740 independent agents in the UK on board, is currently ‘live’ in this country and six others - the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Bangladesh, India, Nigeria and Pakistan.

It says it will also launch soon in Australia, Ireland, China and other countries across the Middle East, and claims that in the UK it will hit 6,000 new property enquiries per month and have 1.6m listings by the end of the year.

Chris May, co-founder and director, says: "The support we have had from agents across the UK so far has been fantastic, and we are confident that we will be able to continue to create an attractive value proposition as we gradually scale-up our business to support more agencies from across the UK and beyond."

"In terms of value, our plus points are easy to see, we are a completely free-to-list portal and one that stays the same no matter how big or small an agent might be."

The portal describes its approach as “creating a level playing field that does not discriminate against local expert agents or national firms” which means it appeals to smaller agencies as well as international companies. Non-independent agents on board include Belvoir and Countrywide’s commercial arm, Lambert Smith Hampton.

The portal cites one UK client -  Daniel Nulty, manager at Open House Estate Agents - who comments: “We’ve been thoroughly impressed by the number of leads generated since joining Residential People, and are proud to work alongside a company that aims to offer a unique product within the property sector."

In addition to free listings the portal also offers an optional, state-of-the-art marketing suite to help agents market properties and drive traffic to their websites; it says this suite enables smaller regional agents to access tools that would otherwise only be accessible to multi-office national players.

It says independents can use the suite to create property brochures and micro-sites for individual listings; there is also an automated online video generator which can then be uploaded to an agent’s YouTube channel to help improve SEO.

I'm looking forward to seeing the growth, we registered a few months ago and seen as the site is fairly new I'm not expecting a ton of leads but i guess any lead is a free lead?
