Agents Do Charity - and ignore the wet weekend...

Sorry about the weather everyone…miserable isn’t it, and the summer is supposed to be well underway?

But we’re not allowing our fund-raising spirits to be dampened, so our thanks go to everyone here who’s contacted us on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk to let us know what they’re up to. Please do the same and you could feature here next Friday.

So, on with this week’s roll call…

Agents Giving/The Trussell Trust: The wonderful industry charity Agents Giving is continuing its support of The Trussell Trust with a nationwide campaign on Agents Giving Day, June 20, to encourage all agents and suppliers to support their local foodbank.

Please check with your foodbank the items they are in most need of, collect them up and make the donation. Your office can act as a collection point for any food donations in your area. You could also consider volunteering or fundraising for your local foodbank.

It is these essential food items and toiletries, baby items and hygiene products which make up the parcels and for you to make the all-important delivery to the foodbanks to give them the supplies they so desperately need.

Last year thousands of food items and toiletries were collected and this year we want to beat that figure. Relocation Agent Network are supporting Agents Giving Day with their #RANFoodbank10k campaign and aim to collect 10,000 items for their local foodbanks.

Let Agents Giving know which food bank you are supporting by registering here.

Prospect Foundation: Since opening in 1990 the Prospect agency in Wokingham has always been keen participants in the local community, recently setting up the Prospect Foundation.

For the last couple of years we have been proudly working really closely with Wokingham In Need, a local charity who are dedicated to helping the homeless and vulnerable people of Wokingham and surrounding areas.

This month it has donated an additional £10,000 to Wokingham In Need, helping the organisation continue the excellent and imperative work they’re doing for the Wokingham community.

You can find out more about Wokingham In Need and support them yourself here.

Poppleton Junior Football Club: Linley & Simpson is among the sponsors who are backing the two-day Poppleton beer festival, near York. This year, all the money raised will go towards helping Poppleton Junior Football Club extend its kitchen area.

Chairman Paul Bunce says: “This is a massive project but will make a huge difference to the running of or great club. This will be our 9th annual beer festival and it remains our best opportunity to raise funds for the club as well as pride a fantastic family day out.”

This year’s event takes place on Friday June 14 and Saturday June 15 and Emily Wilkinson, customer service manager at Linley & Simpson, says: “We are delighted to once again support the work of this family-friendly club who play such a key role in the local community on and off the field. We are delighted to be a partner of this year’s beer festival as part of our growing programme of grass roots support for charities and good causes within the catchment area of our York office.”
