Agents Do Charity - and here’s another long weekend to fund-raise…

Hello and welcome to another one of those great long weekends that come along often at this time of year - a perfect opportunity for more fund-raising.

Not that anyone needs encouragement judging from the size of our virtual postbag.

Everyone mentioned in Agents Do Charity emails us on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk. If you do the same with details of your fund-raising, we’ll let everyone else know and with luck get some others to make donations too.

Last week was all about the London Marathon so a big well-done to all those who took part. This week our heroes are more diverse in their way of helping good causes.

Off we go!

Agents Giving: We are two weeks away from the Agents Giving Love Mud Challenge hosted by Nuclear races and supported by Estate Agent Today and Angels Media.

There are a few spaces remaining to join some of these wonderful teams on the 7k muddy course on Sunday May 19 where you can choose to tackle over 60 different obstacles all set up by award winning Nuclear Races in a secret bunker estate in Brentwood, Essex.

The teams have been busy training and preparing for the race and have this to say:

“The whole training regime has been so much fun. I can’t wait to do this event for the second time” - Katy Poore, Branch Manager, Thomas Morris Sales & Lettings;

“The training has been tough, but I’ve really enjoyed the challenge, and it’s for such a great cause. As long as I don’t get too muddy on the day I’ll be happy!” - Danielle Thordal, Property Consultant, Thomas Morris Sales & Lettings;

“Despite very little training we're all really excited to be taking part in this year's LoveMudChallenge; our boys came first last year so there's obviously no pressure! It's a brilliant day and a great cause, we can't wait” - Rosie McLean, Angels Media;

“Our team has definitely been motivated by the recent social media posts from fellow entrants, with gym sessions and training schedules suddenly being taken a bit more seriously!  We can’t wait for the day and our Rookies are excited to get stuck in the mud. We’re thrilled to be taking part in such a good cause alongside our industry peers in what is sure to be a wet, muddy, laughter filled day that hopefully raises a great amount in donations and sponsorship” - Eurolink.

You can enter a team of colleagues, family and friends for some muddy mayhem and do battle with obstacles such as the Death Slide, Cobra Attack, Spinning Monkeys and Cliff Hanger.  It is open to all levels of ability and fitness and you can even enter the kids into the Rookie race.  All the time knowing your efforts are worthwhile and all for charity and we will be there to cheer you on.

Join Team Agents Giving for their Tough Mudder on this wonderful festival weekend on 19th May and you’ll get a technical t-shirt, medal, timing chip, hot showers, free parking and for the spectators live music and entertainment for all ages, refreshment and food hall and spectator areas in key positions around the course for £3.00 cash entry.

It’s great day out for the whole family.

Agents Do Charity - and here’s another long weekend to fund-raise…Cash For Kids: Cairn Morrison, branch manager of Reeds Rains Morley, is this week taking on The Long Run, of approximately 130 miles to raise money for Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids.

He says: “It will involve around 130 miles (depending if I get lost) from Bridlington in East Yorkshire, through North Yorkshire and finishing at Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire on Friday May 10.

The challenge is in aid of the Cash For Kids charity and the route takes me several of the Reeds Rains offices in my region.”

It sounds a great cause and you can see more - and sponsor Cairn - here.

Teesside Parmo Challenge: The Teesside Parmo Challenge is being held at The Keys in Yarm on May 11 - it’s a challenge between Michael Poole Estate Agents and Bespoke Financial Teesside to raise funds for two new beds at The Teesside Hospice.

In addition, sufficient funds are hoped to be raised to allow the Teesside Family Foundation Holiday Home to be refurbished with an Autism Friendly twin bedroom to help families in need.

Michael Poole, chair of the Teesside Family Foundation trustees, says: “Having visited the Hospice it was obvious to see how desperate the Teesside Hospice are to acquire these additional beds and what a tremendous difference it will make to the people they support. The money raised will also help the Foundation kit out a twin room in its holiday caravan and make it autism friendly.”

Demelza: Serviced apartment company KH Homes has raised £400 for this great cause - the charity provides specialist hospice care to babies, children and young people.

The funds came from the business’ customers - so well done all!
