This week we show the diversity of charitable work in the industry from mental health and a hospice both receiving donations, to an agency supporting the arts too.

Dorset Mind: Meyers, which describes itself as Dorset’s “dynamic independent estate and lettings agency” has partnered with Dorset Mind to launch The GAP Project.
Until a year ago the Poundbury-based agency donated a proportion of every fee it earned to local causes; now it has pledged at least £50 from each sale and let to bring The GAP Project into realisation.
The brainchild of Claire Meyer, co-founder of Meyers, The GAP Project will bring together gardens and people, providing a safe and inclusive environment for people in and around Dorchester - a form of eco-therapy. There will be three gardens where people can meet, relax and refresh, with facilitated support provided by Dorset Mind.
The GAP Project hopes to give people the skills to return to work or training by broadening their networks. “Behind the idea of the project are some very personal reasons to us, one being in memory of my Dad who sadly died when I was very young due to suicide. We hope this project will support people in our community who need nurturing and encouraging in providing a safe, caring environment whilst improving and supporting better mental health. I’m so grateful to everyone involved so far” says Claire.
The team wants everyone who uses the agency to feel like they are a part of the wellbeing project, going some way towards helping others with the education, prevention and recovery from mental health challenges.
Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice: Redkey Property Services is supporting the hospice after managing director Jamie Langley first heard about it through a friend - and has just made its first donation of £3,000.
This will go toward funding facilities and medical care for poorly children and help to provide respite care for their families.
In future, Redkey will be donating a proportion of its fees to the hospice on a regular basis as well as placing a collection tin in the office and promoting this worthwhile cause on marketing materials.
Royal Academy of Arts: London agency Chestertons is to continue its support of The Royal Academy of Arts following a successful five-year relationship.
The RA is an independent charity which relies upon financial support through public donations and sponsorship from corporate supporters.
Chestertons can offer complimentary exhibition tickets to clients, as well as priority access to preview days ahead of new exhibitions launching. Clients also get the opportunity to attend one of the RA’s VIP Fridays; early morning access to the galleries every Friday before public opening hours.
“It was a very easy decision to continue our relationship as it allows us to offer a very different benefit to our clients, which is important to us. This year they will have the opportunity to visit the RA’s new expanded campus which was unveiled last year to exhibit more art than ever before” says Giles Milner, chairman of Chestertons’ Charity Champions.
