Property Jobs Today - plenty of movers as Christmas nears

Hello and welcome to PJT: even with little more than a fortnight before Christmas it seems there are still plenty of moves within our industry.

Everyone here got in touch by emailing press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and if you have jobs news, please do the same - we’ll take care of letting the industry know.

First off we go to the high-end agency Aston Chase in London, where Howard Kayman and Simon Rosenblatt have been appointed as associate directors.

Both are veterans of the respected agency - Howard has worked there for 22 years in the house sales department and Simon for 12 years in the flats sales department during which time they have both become widely recognised within the industry as leading brokers in their respective fields.

Mark Pollack, the director and co-founder of Aston Chase, says: “Simon and Howard are amongst the top agents operating in prime central London and have consistently demonstrated a desire to provide the best possible service to our clients in a friendly, professional and enthusiastic fashion.’’

YOUhome Property Gurus - one of the many agencies with new business models - has recruited Simon Gorringham as the latest guru, covering Fulham in south west London.

Simon has 16 years experience, mostly managing High Street agency sales offices across Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea.

Still in London, congratulations to Benjamin German for being appointed as the new lettings manager at Chestertons’ Richmond office.

Benjamin began as a trainee negotiator with Chancellors in 2008, joining James Anderson in Barnes in 2011 and more recently back to Chancellors in Sunningdale.

Now he says of his new company: “I’ve always heard great things about Chestertons and held them in high regard fortheir ability and professionalism. I was very pleased when I saw a position available at the company, which happened after a year in Sunningdale and I was at the point where I was really missing working in Richmond.”

And one more appointment in the capital - Cluttons has hired Eve Larard-Tansley as head of portfolio and lettings management.

Eve joins from Grosvenor where she was responsible for the estate’s Mayfair and Belgravia residential lettings portfolio. At Cluttons, Eve takes on the newly created role, leading a nine-strong team which currently looks after property portfolios across London.  Her remit is to build and develop the team and expand Cluttons’ portfolio management services beyond London.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for me to use my team-building, cost control and management skills to develop the portfolio and lettings practice, with the ambition of being the very best in the market. Cluttons is a great brand and a fantastic place to work – I am delighted to be part of the team” she says.

To the Midlands now and DM & Co, a rapidly growing agency that’s been in business almost exactly two years.

Managing director and founder Dominic Murphy has elevated sales director Craig Simmonds by handing him a significant stake in the business, saying: “The growth of the business since Craig’s arrival has been phenomenal and has enabled our reputation to grow as one of the leading independent agencies in the region.”

Craig, a former John Shepherd and Countrywide executive, has helped launch DM & Co Premium, specialising in the sale of prestigious homes with a value of £800,000 and above in the Solihull, Knowle, Dorridge and Lapworth areas.

Craig will head up the Dorridge Office from next year.

Now there’s news from Halls Holdings in Shrewsbury, where Jon Quinn has been appointed to the managing board of directors.

The Shropshire-based firm, which celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2020, operates as auctioneers, valuers and property agents as well as running fine art and livestock auctions.

Jon, based at the firm’s estate agency branch in Ellesmere covering principally the North Shropshire area, has worked for Halls for almost 17 years having joined the team straight after leaving university.

“I started as an office junior assisting Allen Gittins, which was a baptism of fire at the time as Allen was quite the ‘taskmaster’! I’m very grateful to Allen, he showed a lot of patience, shadowing his every appointment taught me a great deal and as I learned more about the property business, I discovered a real passion for it, with development land becoming a particular interest of mine” explains Jon.

And finally this week, a surge in demand for UK property by overseas investors is the reason why global marketing and property consultancy LH1 London has promoted Rayna Hunter to the position of global sales director.

Property Jobs Today - plenty of movers as Christmas nearsIn her new role, Rayna will support LH1 London’s relationships with developer partners, as well as the firm’s network of global ‘brokers’ who provide access to buyers keen to be a part of the UK’s rental market.

Rayna says: “The UK has become a nation of renters, and with various towns and cities undergoing substantial regeneration programmes at the moment, more and more developers are working with us to meet pent up demand from buy to let investors seeking properties that can offer excellent rental yields, and low entry costs in such areas. We have recently seen a surge in overseas investment in particular, so I am very excited to be furthering my career path within the company.”

That’s it for this week - we’re back again next Monday. So until then…
