US agency Keller Williams takes off with new centre at Gatwick

US-based Keller Williams is going to open its next market centre in West Sussex - the latest example of what it describes as “significant growth” for the agency.

No specific date has been given but the agency says “early in the new year” will see the office, to be known as KW Gatwick, opened under the leadership of operating principle Lars Evans.

“Lars has many years’ experience in and around the property industry and is a superb operator” according to the agency.

Ben Taylor, CEO of Keller Williams UK, adds: “It is a really exciting prospect to be in partnership with Lars and to now be able to offer agents across the county of Sussex the benefits of our support, training and technology, but more importantly, to enable them to deliver exceptional service within the Sussex community and build great careers for themselves. I know Lars and his team will do an outstanding job of delivering this to agents.”

Evans himself says: “I’m looking forward to helping great agents change their lives by using our systems and models, I really believe there is a demand for this opportunity within our industry and I’m keen to share it with agents who want more from their careers.”

Keller Williams’ business model means agents initially retain 63 per cent of their commissions, with the remainder covering the costs of the market centre service. Once they reach a 'cap' of £60,000 the agent then retains 90 per cent of their commission with the remaining 10 per cent going to Keller Williams.

Agents operate in their own way but are encouraged to use market centres - effectively administrative hubs similar to serviced offices. These provide agents with desk space, IT support, CRM systems and training facilities.

A company statement claims: “We are experiencing significant growth in terms of agents joining existing market centres as well as being in conversations with some notable individuals with aspirations to open their own market centres to help and support more agents in 2020 – it is shaping up to be a another year of marked growth.”
