Foxtons launches marketing blitz with advertising campaign

Foxtons is embarking on a rare advertising campaign, using a company owned by the largest independent creative agency in the world, M&C Saatchi.

The emphasis is going to be on Foxtons’ strong sales record and there will be an ‘out of home’ element - street advertising - and a social media element.

The More About Advertising marketing specialist website says that as Foxtons is known for its  uncompromising approach to commissions, the campaign is aimed at demonstrating the quality of service on offer in an age where cheaper online fixed-price agencies are showing growing market share.

“The theme of the out of home and social campaign is Foxtons’ evangelical determination to ... make sales” says the website.

It quotes Foxtons marketing director Steve Rodgers saying: “Our mission is to set the standard in property for our customers, wherever they are in life. We have a strong foundation in our well-known brand and this advertising campaign marks the start of a number of new marketing activities that will engage Londoners."

“Our business is built to serve customers better – with the size and strength to reach more people, fuelled by the commitment and expertise of our people. This advertising campaign brings that message home” he continues.

A spokesman for the Saatchi-owned M&C Accelerator agency says: “Foxtons is a great London brand. All we did was put into words what the brand has been doing brilliantly for years – tirelessly helping property buyers and sellers get where they want to be.”

The campaign follows Foxtons reporting a 23 per cent slump in sales revenue.

I suspect it’s more than fresh marketing that’s required.

Speaking from personal experience my view is of an agency that’s forgotten first principles.

Their original vision of “we go to war for our clients” is somewhat eroded when dealing with snake oil salesmen valuers and disinterested branch staff
