Hello and welcome to the regular Monday feature, Property Jobs Today.

Right, let’s go…

First this week we’re in Cambridge where Cheffins has announced a number of senior promotions.

Elevated to directors are Suzi Smith (right), HR, Finance and Administration; Sharon Hamilton, Marketing; Lynsey Butcher, Accounts and Finance; and  Ryan Bourgaise (below left), head of Cheffins’ Haverhill office.

Some staff have been promoted to associate, including David Bushell, IT services; Sophie Richardson, PR and Digital; Mary Freeman, Machinery Auction Accounts; Ben Thompson, New Business Consultant for Cambridge Lettings and Joe Page from the Machinery Auctions at Sutton.

These promotions come following Cheffins’ new corporate structure aimed at intensifying its focus on the estate agency, rural consultancy, commercial property, fine art and machinery sectors.

Now to Swindon where Castles Residential Sales & Lettings has been appointing new staff members.

Carol Wiggins joins in the administrative role for lettings and Matthew Wyeth takes up a new position of lettings consultant. Tamzen Rowley also joins the lettings team this month.

Meanwhile in sales Lauren Peters, Mark Woolhouse and Tom Anderson have all joined as sales consultants. Maria Martinez de Toffoletti, the new sales administrator, will support the expanding sales team.

"During this period of rapid growth [the new staff] will provide a timely expansion of our offering, giving us more opportunity to continue delivering an unparalleled service to landlords and tenants alike in the Swindon area. It is an exciting time for the company, and these new appointments underline our determination to retain our position as a leading independent agent in Swindon” explains Mark Noble, managing director of Castles.

As we reported on Estate Agent Today last week, there’s a new Property Marketing Academy at Spicerhaart.

It’s to be led by John Murray, previously head of training and development for Arun Estates.

“It’s such a rewarding job. When you get an email or a text from someone who’ve made real progress as a result of your training and coaching, it just gives you the biggest buzz ever” he says.

Property Jobs Today - plenty of industry moves as the holidays start...And sticking with Spicerhaart, the company has also announced that ex-Knight Frank and MHCLG employee Paul Belson will work alongside the group’s head of landlord services, Kate Hurles to help the company establish a Build To Rent proposition.

“Build to Rent is a significant development growing in importance within the private rented sector."

"Institutional investors are committed to the long-term pension matching liabilities and risk diversification offered by this new and rapidly expanding asset class” says Paul.

It’s time for some central London agency news - and Knight Frank has promoted a new sales head in Kings Cross.

Property Jobs Today - plenty of industry moves as the holidays start...Keir Waddell, recently made an associate at the firm, was previously in the agency’s Queen’s Park office for two years.

“Kings Cross is an area of great excitement and continuing development which makes it a dynamic market to be involved in. From convenience of travel to the ever-expanding retail and lifestyle amenities, this is a pivotal time for the area” explains Keir.

Finally this week, some news from the burgeoning student accommodation sector.

Campus Living Villages has a new UK chief executive - it’s Lee McLean who will join in September from Vita Student, where he has been employed for over three years and is the current managing director.

Lee’s worked within the student accommodation sector for almost a decade, holding senior roles at Unite Students and The Mansion Group.

Campus Living Villages has divisions within the UK, Australia, New Zealand and USA.

That’s it for this week - a busy time for industry moves. Until next time…
