Property listings with video tours receive 'hundreds more views' – claim

An estate agent claims that online property listings which include video tours receive 'hundreds more views' than those without.

Dan Killeen of Sawyers estate agents in Worthing, Sussex, says that his firm started offering 360-degree video tours at the start of May and they have proved to be 'hugely popular'.

He says that prospective buyers use tours to 'scope out' a property before deciding whether to book a viewing.

The agent argues that offering these tours provides his clients with better quality viewings from 'people who are genuinely interested because they feel they have already seen the property once'.

Killeen's claims coincide with a study of 100 prospective property buyers carried out by Exact.

Applicants were asked which features would be most helpful when they are making a decision on whether to view a property in the future.

Some 51% said 'a detailed video tour', 31% said 'more photos', 14% said 'bigger, better floor plans' and 4% said 'more info about bills (such as gas or electricity)’.

The options 'longer descriptions' and 'more EPC info' didn't receive any votes from the 100 applicants.

"The majority of estate agents are stuck in the dark ages using the old marketing techniques they've always used," continues Killeen.

“A huge 82% said they more visuals of a property would help them in their hunt - so why aren't more agents listening to their customers and doing this?”

Poll: Are video tours a good tool for qualifying prospective buyers?
