Luke Mills has been promoted to one of the top jobs at CBRE after serving as executive director and head of residential sales and development consultancy at the firm since 2013.

Before that, he was a director at Savills where he worked for over a decade.

Luke's new role will see him responsible for leading CBRE's residential service from its UK headquarters in London.

“CBRE Residential is an energetic, dynamic and truly innovative business that seeks to connect people, property and places all over the world," he says.

“I look forward to working with our outstanding leadership team to develop client-focused initiatives and strategies that ensure the business continues to evolve and flourish.”

Now moving on to one of the lettings industry's best-known figures. Valerie Bannister - former ARLA Propertymark president - has been appointed as lettings compliance director for Your Move and Reeds Rains.

Formerly lettings director for Your Move, Valerie is taking up the new role to acknowledge 'growing industry acceptance' that compliance has become a number one priority for letting agents.

“In a time of unprecedented [market] change – and increased regulation – we wanted to appoint a dedicated director responsible for ensuring there is a widespread understanding of what these changes mean – not only to our business – but importantly to our customers who increasingly rely on our expertise," says Martyn Alderton, LSL Property Services' national lettings and franchise director.

There's also been a major promotion at Barratt Developments, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands.

Jon Green has been appointed as managing director for the organisation's Southampton-based division.

Jon has been working with the housebuilder since 1995 and his previous role was construction director.

“Trading since the beginning of the year has been strong driven by good customer demand for our high quality new homes and an attractive lending environment,” says Jon.

“We celebrate our 60th anniversary this month, and as the UK’s largest housebuilder we continue to focus on growing our housing output, creating jobs and supporting economic growth across the region.”

And finally our attention turns to BrickVest, the online property investment platform.

The London-based startup has appointed Morten Møller Holst as chief operating officer.

Morten is the firm's latest senior hire following the recent appointments of Frank Noé as partner in Germany and Rafal Okninski as chief technology officer in London.

The new recruit will work closely with BrickVest's leadershup team to develop its infrastructure in line with its ambitious growth plans.

“We’re delighted to welcome Morten to the BrickVest team. His proven track record in leading fast growth companies will prove invaluable as we continue to rapidly scale our platform, build our investor base and broaden our product proposition,” says Emmanuel Lumineau, BrickVest's co-founder and chief executive.
