Property Jobs Today - who’s on the move in our industry?

Let’s start this week with Johnny Morris, who’s left his position as head of research at Countrywide; he joined Hamptons International in 2013, becoming head of research at the Countrywide-owned brand before taking a wider role as Research and Analytics Director for the whole group.

“He’s made a significant contribution to the business and we wish him well for the future” says a spokeswoman for the company.

Meanwhile over at Strawberry Star - a London firm handling investment, development, acquisitions, sales, asset management and lettings for overseas investors - has made five senior appointments.

Matthew Leitch becomes sales director from CBRE where he was a senior director in its residential consultancy business. He brings a 20-year track record in residential sales and will drive Strawberry Star’s domestic and international sales strategy.

Robert Hepworth joins as director of commercial investment from BNP Paribas Real Estate; he will be responsible for sourcing and identifying yield-based and off-plan commercial opportunities in London.

Kekul Shah joins as director of fund management from AXA Investment Managers; he’ll play a key role in growing the capital business and in raising further debt and equity to support future acquisitions.

Alex Lazarov joins Strawberry Star as lettings director from Dexters estate agents where he was its lettings board director for West London. With 20-plus years’ experience behind him, at Strawberry Star he manages lettings and will lead future growth in both residential lettings and asset management.

Mike Vos, a real estate lawyer with a 40-year career, becomes group legal counsel. He was formerly a partner at Cripps.

Let’s swing over to Lincoln to see what’s happening at Savills, where there have been two promotions to senior roles.

Lucie Muddiman of the rural management team and Sam Thomas, who works in the farm agency team, have both been promoted to associate.

Lucie is a rural surveyor, focusing on rural property and farmland and residential valuations; Sam deals with acquisitions of fields, farms, estates, equestrian properties and strategic sites across the East Midlands.

Branch head Johnny Dudgeon says of Sam and Lucie: "They’ve both consistently delivered an excellent performance and contributed to the success of their teams and the wider Savills brand."

Senior management changes have been announced at Yopa, the Savills- and LSL-backed online agency. 

Co-founder and former chief executive Daniel Attia has become chairman with the CEO position being taken over by Ben Poynter, who was the agency’s chief financial officer.

Jason Goodwin is a name you may get to know soon - he’s just become as group sales and marketing director for Landmark Information Services. 

Property Jobs Today - who’s on the move in our industry?

Joining from Experian Data Quality, Jason assumes responsibility for the Group’s England and Wales sales and marketing activities in the Estate Agency, Environmental, Legal Conveyancing and Geospatial sectors, in this newly formed role.   

Landmark brands include Metropix, Promap and SearchFlow.

Finally this week those fine people at outsourced communications service Moneypenny have appointed two ex-estate agents to join its live chat team.

Tracey Jones, previously a sales negotiator in North Wales, has 28 years’ experience in the sector and Amanda Beck brings with her 12 years’ experience in lettings, property management, sales and valuations.

Samantha Jones, Commercial Manager – Property at Moneypenny, says: “We’re thrilled to welcome Tracey and Amanda to the team. We’re seeing live chat emerge as an increasingly popular service and our dedicated property team for live chat is growing at a rapid pace.”

Tracey and Amanda aren’t the first ex-agents to join the team at Moneypenny. Amongst its property team are a number of landlords, ex-sales negotiators and letting agents.
