Hogarth on agency acquisition trail after London independent snapped up

Orchards of London, a four-office independent operating in the west of the capital, has been fully acquired by The Hogarth Property Group.

There had already been a link between the two operations as THPG chairman Paul Connolly helped set up Orchards of London in 2009; the agency has offices in Ealing, Acton, Chiswick and Shepherds Bush.

Joseph Murphy - Orchards’ co-founder - is now leaving the company to pursue other business interests and says: “I am very proud of the growth and success we have achieved and in the team of people who have contributed to the company over the years. The timing was right to agree for Paul to acquire my share of the business and for me move on to new opportunities”

Orchards of London now becomes a fully integrated part of The Hogarth Property Group, which includes independent brokerage as well as a number of development and asset management operations.

“I am looking forward to making further acquisitions to both complement and grow our portfolio. We are particularly interested in acquiring sales and lettings businesses in and around West London or lettings and management portfolios. We are financially strong and able to make fast decisions based on either outright purchase or via a structured ‘earn out’ arrangement” explains Connolly.
