Property Jobs Today - the latest moves in and out of our industry

It’s not just the Cabinet and the government where jobs are in flux - there are plenty of moves to announce in our industry, too.

If you have any moves, promotions or departures to report, email us on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll do the rest. In the meantime, let’s get on with our Monday update.

Let’s start this week with Savills, which is boosting its massive 33-person UK residential research team - these are the people who produce occasional market reports which go to the trade and wider media, and who also undertake corporate research for clients providing the agency with significant income.

Sebastian Verity joins as a director with a remit to leverage emerging technologies and information to provide clients with market-leading data and analytics. He joins from Knight Frank where he was head of research consultancy.

Josh Rose-Nokes is now an associate director who will focus on consultancy projects for the affordable housing sector. He joins from GVA Apleona where he led research on the residential, development and the alternatives sectors.

Paul Wellman joins as associate and will focus on B2B client advisory work.  He was previously at Estates Gazette where he gained a reputation for insightful data, news and analysis on the London residential development market.

The team will “help us give best in class advice to meet expanding client demand” according to Lucian Cook, Savills’ head of residential research.

Meanwhile former Knight Frank staff have bought the Bath franchise for Winkworth.

The pair are Lucy McIlroy (right) and Matthew Leonard (below) - the latter having been a partner at Knight Frank in the city.  Leonard has a total of 23 years' experience in agency and McIlroy has 20, including time at Cluttons as well as Knight Frank.

“After many years building up our knowledge and love of Bath, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to run our own business in a location that we’re so passionate about. With much regeneration and development taking place around the city, we’re looking forward to reaping the benefits of Winkworth’s large network and client database to maximise the scope of how we can assist local home movers” explains Leonard.

So let’s look at the FirstPort company - it’s the UK’s largest residential property manager, overseeing 185,000 homes in England, Wales and Scotland across over 3,900 developments. It has 3,000 employees working with developers, investors, freeholders and over 200 Resident Management Companies.

Now it’s made senior appointments in two customer-focused areas of its business.

“Customers in a luxury development demand a luxury service, and I am looking forward to using my experience of dealing with the most prestigious customers to define and deliver an exceptional level of service” she says.

Property Jobs Today - the latest moves in and out of our industryMeanwhile Lucinda Walker has been appointed as director of Build to Rent, with the aim of providing expert focus to FirstPort’s proposition for both clients and customers in this emerging market.

Lucinda has over 20 years’ senior operations and project management experience and says: “I look forward to using my experience of mobilising and delivering major events to ensure our Build to Rent operation is slick, efficient and completely focused on the needs of customers.”

Finally this week, over to the consultancy side of Carter Jonas.

It has new faces on its environmental consultancy side. David Sandbrook and Huw Richards join as partners with Michael Hayes and Alexa Phelps as associate partner and surveyor respectively.
