A long-standing independent agency on the south coast is to rebrand after being snapped up by a Winkworth franchisee.
Humphreys & Orr, an estate agency at Mudeford on the Dorset coast, has been bought by Winkworth Highclffe franchisee Simon Barnes.
The Mudeford office will stay at its current location and will remain in the hands of staff from Humphreys & Orr.
“With Humphrey & Orr being such a well-established estate agency, I felt it was the perfect fit to work alongside my Highcliffe office” says Barnes.
Meanwhile Savills has snapped up an independent agency too - Martel Maides on Guernsey.
A statement from Savills says it will create the firm’s first residential presence on the island and "help forge a strong, multi-disciplinary brand presence across the Channel Islands, complementing its successful businesses in Jersey and Guernsey."
Originally established in 1972, Martel Maides handles local and open market residential sales and lettings, plus agency consultancy, professional services and management.
The team of 16 employees will join Savills with immediate effect.
