Agents Do Charity - and it's November already...

You don’t need EAT to remind you that Christmas is now just next month.

Many agents are gearing their fund-raising to that end but there are plenty of others doing great work now for good causes. We’ll gladly include your activities, too, if you email us at press@estateagenttoday.co.uk.

Now, with no more mention of Santa and Holly, let’s see what’s happening…

NSPCC: Connells has raised over £20,000 for its chosen charity, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children by taking part in the annual Gherkin Challenge.

The event, which took place at the iconic London landmark, saw a team of 50 Connells colleagues – the biggest participating team - take on the 38 floors and 1,037 stairs of the tallest completed building in the city.

Connells Group chairman Stephen Shipperley, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to have raised over £20,000 for the NSPCC, a charity that we have been supporting for more than 15 years. We’ve endeavoured to make this our best year of fundraising yet and, with the money still rolling in, we might just do that

And Jacqui Venters, community fundraising manager at the NSPCC says: “Congratulations to all those from Connells who took part in our Gherkin Challenge, once again they have pulled out all the stops to help us protect children in Bedfordshire and across the country. On behalf of NSPCC, I can’t thank their staff enough for raising such a brilliant amount of money.”

The NSPCC is the UK’s leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. The charity runs a range of locally based services for children and families; campaigns to help change and improve the lives of children; runs a helpline for adults to call if they are concerned about a child; and provides ChildLine, the UK’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline and online service for children and young people to call if they need help or advice.

MacMillan/Children In Need/Help4Heroes: There’s a whole host of fundraising going on by the good folk at Martin Kemps agency.

They’ve recently raised £205 at a Macmillan Coffee Morning and in a fortnight they will be hosting a Children in Need Foodie Friday. “We’ll be selling homemade lunchtime snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to raise money. Our Finance Manager Vasuda will be making her world-famous samosas” explains sales and lettings manager Phil Norgan. [Save us a samosa please - Ed].

Then next month the team will be “Walking With Heroes” for Help4Heroes by either walking to or from work one day in December, filming as they go.

“Not forgetting that every time we sell a property we donate £100 to a local, participating school or £50 if we let a property” adds Phil.

It’s a fantastic example of agents doing so much for their local community - please send us a film from your walk next month and we’ll show it here.

Agents Giving: Please don’t forget, tickets are now on sale for the industry Charity Christmas ball organised by Agents Giving and supported by The Tennant Shop which takes place on Friday December7.

It’s at The Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel in London which will host the very first Agenta Got Talent competition. Come along and support your incredibly brave colleagues in this very first Agents Giving talent competition.
