Agents may sometimes have a tense relationship with conveyancers but admit it - when our legal colleagues are good, they are very good indeed.
That’s certainly the evidence from the ESTAS Conveyancer Customer Service Awards, the biggest such event in the conveyancing sector and of course a sister event to that for estate agents.
LPL Property Lawyers, based in Manchester, walked away with the Grand Prix award as the Best Single Office in the UK but with firms recognised in 13 regions around the UK with awards for best local, regional and national groups, there were plenty of other ESTAS winners too.
The Best Local Group award went to Kent based firm Boys & Maughan while the gold for best regional firm was presented to Birchall Blackburn from Manchester. Convey Law based in Newport took the Best National Group title.
TV property expert Phil Spencer, who handed out the awards at a glittering event attended by 400 of the UK’s top property lawyers, says: “The ESTAS are special awards because shortlisted and winning firms are selected purely on the service you deliver to your clients, real feedback from real customers experiencing real service. I don’t think there can be a greater honour in the industry than to receive an award based on that mantra.”
The ESTAS Awards determine the best conveyancing firms based purely on feedback from customers who are asked a series of questions about the service they have received from their conveyancer or solicitor; 8,000 surveys were completed by customers during the competition.

For the first time suppliers to the sector were recognised with conveyancing firms rating the levels of service they delivered. PSG won the Supplier of the Year Award, Dual Underwriting took the silver and Searches UK the bronze.
