Taxi! New agency takes buyers for a ride (but in a good way)

A new estate agency has come up with a novel way of taking prospective purchasers around its patch - by using a London cab.

Suffolk Coastal has bought a traditional London Taxi, painted it white, branded it with the firm’s logo and given it the registration plate SL55OLK.

It then collects viewers from nearby railway stations, drives them to the homes they want to see, and gets them back to the station afterwards - and doesn’t charge a fare.

“Many of our prospective purchasers come from the capital. Buyers genuinely seem to love the experience – and it also allows us to spend more time with them, so we can better understand what they are looking for, show them properties which are relevant to their needs, as well as being able to target future viewings more effectively” says managing director Tim Day.

The taxi takes up to five passengers at a time and is a traditional 2005 London cab, which is driven by Day at weekends and by sales staff during the week.

“As a pro-active local estate agent, we recognise that we have to go out of our way to do more for our clients during what is unquestionably a challenging market. The truth is that successful selling also involves providing buyers with a service which is innovative, inspired and informed” insists Day.
