Let’s start this week with new faces in charge of the Bedford branch of Martin & Co.

Business partners Shahid Miah, Jay Miah and Habib Rahman have taken on the business and its portfolio of managed properties after completing a resale deal with the previous owner.

The trio boast a wealth of experience in retail and commercial banking, while Jay Miah also spent more than a decade in sales, lettings and mortgage advice and is a Bedford resident.

Emoov’s head of estate agency - Adam Day, the founder of Hatched - has quit the post after less than three months in the role.

He says he’s going to become a PropTech consultant.

Now let’s see who Connells has appointed as its new head of lettings in its Crawley office. 

It’s Wendy Tolfrey, who has over 15 years’ industry experience in lettings, and who has said her new goal is to make Connells the town’s agent of choice: 

“I’m charged with using my previous experience and extensive knowledge of lettings to grow and develop the team in the branch, to increase our current portfolio of managed properties and to offer a fully comprehensive service to all our tenant and landlord customers” she says.

The retirement sector continues to grow at pace: now Cushman & Wakefield is launching a retirement living service with Caryn Donahue at the helm.

She is an established broker in the retirement living market who is relocating from the firm’s Boston office in the United States. 

Caryn starts work this month as a partner based in London, but with a national remit.

SearchFlow is one of the house moving industry’s higher profile conveyancing services suppliers, and it’s named Tracy Burtwell as its new sales director.

“It was clear to me that SearchFlow is passionate about service and in how it supports its customers and I’m looking forward to working with the team to develop further growth opportunities, while maintaining the company’s core focus on service, which clearly runs through the very heart of the organisation” she says.

Telecoms is an increasingly important aspect of all property industry activities, so the news that Carter Jonas has appointed Mark Talbot as head of telecommunications is a key move for the firm,.

Mark - who is also chair of the RICS Telecoms Forum Board, will work out of the firm’s Birmingham office, servicing the residential and other property teams at the 37 Carter Jonas offices nationwide.

Property Jobs Today - catch up with key moves within the industryFinally this week, congratulations to Antony Schober who has just become chief operating officer at BidX1, one of the growing number of digital auction companies. 

Antony is charged with overseeing the operations and expansion of the business having acquired over 17 years of experience in real estate professional services; BixX1 has just received investment from Pollen Street Capital.
