Another estate agency snapped up by ex-Countrywide team

London agency Stirling Ackroyd has announced its third acquisition in the course of a year.

It’s only 15 months ago that Stirling Ackroyd itself was acquired by Nick Dunning Associates, a firm led by senior ex-Countrywide staff.

Now Stirling Ackroyd continues its expansion into East London by snapping up multi-service property agency Bridge Estates, based in Shoreditch.

Bridge Estates has specialists in sales, lettings, land, new homes and commercial property and over time all disciplines and existing staff will be integrated into Stirling Ackroyd’s Shoreditch operation and flagship office.

“The acquisition provides the Bridge Estates team with greater opportunities and a greater range of services to offer clients. We are delighted with how the process has gone and pleased to be working closely with the teams at Stirling Ackroyd and Nick Dunning Associates” says Tom Mulligan, Bridge Estates’ managing director.

Stirling Ackroyd has had a busy 2018: it has already purchased the Lourdes lettings agency in Westferry, and My London Home; both are being rebranded to Stirling Ackroyd.

The acquisition of Bridge Estates brings a land and new homes team with over 40 years of experience combined, as well as a lettings book of just under 200 managed units. According to Stirling Ackroyd’s chief executive, Vince Corley - who left Countrywide in February 2017, joining Nick Dunning Associates last October - the Bridge Estates acquisition will help grow “our burgeoning new homes business at Stirling Ackroyd.”

The agency says it’s on its way to tripling in size over the next couple of years; it is currently looking at the Nine Elms area of London for new office premises and further opportunities for acquisitions.

“Stirling Ackroyd was a fantastic acquisition for us. Our strategy is to focus on having power house branches, which deliver between £2m and £10m in revenue per office and making acquisitions that complement this strategy” says Nick Dunning, founder and chief executive of Nick Dunning Associates.
