25 Not Out for top London agency that started with two branches

One of London’s best known estate agencies marks its 25th anniversary this month, having started with just two branches in one location back in 1993.

Then, Featherstone Leigh had both of its offices in Richmond - now it has 10 offices covering the south west London swathe from Battersea to Kingston.

From the company's core disciplines of sales, lettings and a new homes department, its services have grown to include property management, commercial property and corporate services. 

“It’s amazing how the company has grown both geographically and in its range of services. Technology has transformed the industry. In the early 90s, we were reliant on word processors and fax machines, with one computer at the back of the office” explains Robert Leigh, founder and managing director.

“Today, our agents are online constantly. The ability to communicate so easily has enabled us to improve our customer service even further, resulting in the dynamic and efficient business we have become today” he continues. 

Leigh says several current managers and directors began their careers as trainee negotiators straight from university.

“I'm hugely proud of how Featherstone Leigh has grown over the past 25 years, breaking into new markets. We have built an immensely strong team, whose USP is matchless in-depth local knowledge and great service” he says.
