"Footfall no longer on the High Street" says agency after relocation

An estate agency that is moving from a high street to a business centre says it is relocation because footfall has dropped and many clients and customers now operate online.

Westpark Estate Agents, now based in Darlington’s Business Central, moved to the centre due to a change in the market according to owner, Carol Chandler, who has worked in agency for over 30 years.

The firm, which used to concentrate on sales but now also handles lettings and tenant acquisition, says the move is necessary to focus on boosting sales and presence online.

In an interview with business publication BQ Live, Chandler says: “It’s a case of moving with the times and Business Central is a great place to operate digitally. The footfall is sadly no longer there on the high street but we saw the office move as an opportunity to relaunch our brand.”

She adds: “Everything is done online these days and with an increased presence on social media, we seem to be getting more and more business. Our clients haven’t really noticed that we’ve changed address, until they go online or call us to book an appointment.

“When our clients do arrive here they’re greeted at reception and they’re impressed by the facilities in the building – which is great as customer care is also very important to us.”
