Only two weeks into the new year and we’re already in full swing with a wide range of fund-raising - well done to everyone from the team here at Estate Agent Today.

Agents Giving: Are your New Year’s resolutions to get fit, tone up, set yourself a new challenge and spend more time in the great outdoors while raising money for charity? Then Agents Giving have the answer for you – The Agents Giving Love Mud Challenge powered by Nuclear Races.

The first event of its kind for Agents Giving is set to challenge the property industry to the maximum.

Supported by Estate Agent Today the 2018 Love Mud Challenge will be held on Sunday May 20 in a secret bunker estate in Brentwood, Essex.

This challenge is not for the feint-hearted, it is a seven kilometre tough, gritty and very muddy obstacle race of natural and man made obstacles to test all levels of fitness. It is a fast – paced, punishing course over a varied terrain. Obstacles include the death slide, zip – lines and 120m gorilla bars to name a few.

It is part of a festival weekend event hosted by Nuclear Races and benefits from timing chip, hot showers, parking, refreshments and food hall, spectator areas, camping option, live music and entertainment for all ages.

Gary Barker, MD of Reapit and Director of Agents Giving is a keen participant of tough mudder events comments: “The Love Mud Challenge is set to really test the industry and is a great way to kick start your New Year resolutions. This will be a tough challenge and one we know competing agents will love. We ask you to sign up and then challenge your local competitor to see who has got what it takes to reach the finishing line first. There will be awards for best team and individual times plus many more.”

All fitness abilities can enter, training for the event is required, minimum age to take part is 13 years old, fees are £1,000 per team of four or £250 for individuals which includes entry fees and your fundraising for Agents Giving (fundraising to be completed by May 20). Fine & Country Foundation: The foundation is taking on its most enduring challenge yet as Emma Preston, regional manager for GPEA, will be running 12 marathons in 12 months.

Emma will begin her adventure in Brighton in April 2018 and complete her final marathon in March 2019.

The Fine & Country Foundation is inviting other eager runners to join her on one or more of her marathons, either alongside Emma in the race or cheering her on from the side-lines.

“I’m trying to do something that will become an inspiration to people. If everyone contributes to fighting the causes of homelessness then we can have a real impact on the scale of the problem” she says.

“I haven’t run a distance this far since the London Marathon in 2007. I strained a ligament in my knee in December so I am building my strength back up, but I am still quietly confident that I can do it. All I have to do is get past the first one and I know I can make it” continues Emma.

Saunders & lingard Estate Agency in Devon has outlined its active 2018 programme of charitable work.

The team - Sue, Sara and Rob - support Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Newquay Zoo and Whitley Wildlife Conservative trust. The team will also be supporting the ladies captains charity at Churston Golf Club again this year, in support of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Meanwhile Saunders & Lingard’s own version of Lewis Hamilton, Rob Lingard, will be pushing pedal to the metal this October, in his bid to complete the 26th running of one of the oldest events in the Triumph enthusiast’s calendar, the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run. This is in aid of Epilepsy Research UK and hopes to raise over £50,000 to build on over £600,000 raised by previous RBRRs.

Bloodwise: Over £5,000 has been raised by the Farrell Hayworth Group for a very personal fund-raising activity - one of the team at the agency, John Shellcross, is this month undergoing stem cell treatment at the Royal Liverpool University. He is suffering from chronic myeloid leukaemia.

“We’ll be continuing our fundraising efforts this year and hope our clients will be happy to help out, but we’d also like to help to raise the profile of the Bloodwise charity and their life saving work” explains PR manager Laura Gittins.
