TODAY'S OTHER NEWS

A PropTech opportunity, but not one associated with Angels Media

We would like to take this opportunity to provide a clarification to a newsflash sent by Property Industry Eye on January 1.

The spin of the story was that Angels Media - the publisher of Estate Agent Today and Letting Agent Today - is part of a team behind My Backyard, a new DIY property listings platform.

Angels Media is not 'behind' My Backyard and has no association with the site other than being retained by the start-up as a digital strategy and marketing partner.

A spokesperson for My Backyard has also clarified that there is no relationship between the two firms other than in a marketing capacity.

"My Backyard is enlisting the services of Angels Media to develop a digital marketing strategy alone. They are independent of My Backyard and are not providing financial backing in any way."

"We’re offering investors the best prospects for continued growth and an opportunity to be part of something genuinely pioneering. We’re scheduled to launch in Spring 2018."

The predominant reason for My Backyard’s retention of Angels Media is due to its huge audience of landlords (over 200,000) via its landlord-facing publication, LandlordToday.co.uk.

Many of our partners choose to advertise or retain us due to our diverse range of marketing services and presence as a true media partner, rather than just simply a news source.

Like many other suppliers and start-ups, My Backyard is looking to ride the crest of the PropTech wave and offer a specific portion of the vendor and landlord market an alternative way to list their properties.

Claiming Angels Media is behind this website, which is yet to launch, would suggest that we do not fully support the invaluable role of estate and letting agents, which could not be further from the truth.

As well as publishing leading news sites Estate Agent Today and Letting Agent Today, Angels Media owns The ValPal Network which champions all agents and helps them to generate more business. Our commitment to agents cannot be questioned.

Each month, The ValPal Network provides its 4,000+ member branches with over 35,000 vendor leads, generating almost £4.5 million a day in potential commissions. Not only that, but all ValPal Network members receive leads from other agents in the Network when they are generated out of area.

Via its publications and The ValPal Network, Angels Media is dedicated to helping agents to improve their digital marketing strategy while showcasing some of the best suppliers in the industry.

With 2018 now well underway we’ll be looking to help even more agents generate more revenue and improve their businesses this year, rather than ‘cooking up’ an unnecessary storm.

And finally, we are genuinely flattered that PIE felt this worthy of a newsflash, and on New Year’s Day!
