Adam Day, the founder of Connells-owned online estate agency Hatched, has been announced as head of operations at easyProperty.

In a statement this morning, Day’s role is described as establishing the new systems and procedures which will transform easyProperty into a business-to-business-to-consumer platform “enabling the convergence of high street agency with online sales and lettings.”

easyProperty is licensing its brand and technology to independent estate agents who belong to The Guild of Property Professionals or Fine & Country, both of which are part of GPEA.

easyProperty was acquired by GPEA in a £60m deal that completed on July 13 2017.

“I’ve known Adam for a number of years and, like me, he has worked in a traditional agency so understands the best of both worlds. Adam brings his vast experience and knowledge of the online sales and lettings processes to easyProperty, which, in conjunction with our licensees, is a real asset to our future growth” according to Jon Cooke, easyProperty chief executive.

“Since we announced easyProperty’s acquisition, we undertook a series of roadshows to secure more than 270 licences from independent estate agencies throughout the UK. With Adam now on the team, we are confident of a successful relaunch in early September” adds Cooke.

Day launched Hatched in 2006 - at the time is was the second online agency to operate in the UK. Connells subsequently acquired the business in November 2015, making it the first ‘bricks and mortar’ property company to procure an online agency.

Day was instrumental in the design and execution of bespoke software to enable online transactions while overseeing the in-house web development team, recruitment strategies, in-house training and supporting marketing communication campaigns.

Speaking of his new role, Day says: "I cut my teeth in the estate agency world as an independent professional so I have an in-depth appreciation of licensee’s day-to-day operations. As head of operations, I am looking forward to delivering systems and procedures that will benefit both our licensees as well as the consumer.”

Prior to Hatched, Day was with Country Properties for almost nine years in various roles, the last being as a marketing manager.
