Father and son duo acquire local branch of franchise agency

A father and son duo have taken over ownership of the franchise of one of the two Hunters offices in York.

Gary and John Romans worked within the Hunters brand before. John spent five years as a sales valuer and negotiator at the main York office, while Gary previously operated two other franchised offices in the region between 2010 and 2016. The pair are now operating the Bishopthorpe Road branch within the city.

Hunters opened its very first office in York in 1992 and its first franchising branch in 2006 and now has a network of over 200 branches nationwide.

“I’ve been with Hunters in York since 2011 and I can honestly say I love the city. I have a huge wealth of knowledge of the area” says John. “I’m delighted to not only be working in this exciting area of the market but also to be returning to Hunters at such an exciting time in the business” explains Gary.

“Both Gary and John are very familiar with the local market and seemed the natural fit for the branch. We pride ourselves not only on customer satisfaction but also on employee development and it’s great to see one of our own staff members progress to take on the business ownership of a franchise” says Hunters Property chief executive Glynis Frew.
