The UK's largest estate agency has announced a series of internal promotions, bolstering its senior leadership team.
Yesterday evening Countrywide confirmed that current professional services director Paul Chapman has been promoted to managing director of the group's business to business division.
He will be responsible for managing Countrywide's surveying, conveyancing, asset management and land and new homes businesses.
Chapman, who is now part of Countrywide's executive team, has been with the agency since 2011 and has been working in the property industry for over two decades.
His promotion will see director of business to business, Paul Creffield, now focusing on Countrywide's commercial division.
Grant Dempster, chief risk and compliance officer, and Paul Bridge - who will manage the group's portfolio for IT procurement and programme management - have also been promoted to the executive team.
All changes will come into effect on July 1 2017.
The news of the internal promotions comes after it was announced this week that the group's chief financial officer, Jim Clarke, is stepping down to be replaced by Himanshu Raja.
Countrywide's new recruits to the executive team are joined by existing members Alison Platt (chief executive), the outgoing Jim Clarke (chief financial officer), Kate Brown (group HR director), Sam Tyrer (managing director of sales and lettings), Paul Creffield (current managing director of business to business), and Peter Curran (managing director of financial services).
Confirming the appointments, group chief executive Alison Platt says: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul, Grant and Paul to the executive team.”
“Each of them has had a strong hand in improving our business performance and capability in their respective areas, so it’s only right that we make the most of their expertise at group strategic level.”
“These appointments emphasise our strong commitment to delivering growth and improved operational performance across the group as we continue to build a stronger business for the future.”

How can this "bolster its senior leadership team"? It sounds to me like musical chairs. It's still the same people.
