Revealed - the 25 people doing the most to spread the PropTech word

The LendInvest PropTech Influencer List has been revealed, naming the 25 figures in the property world that have done most to develop the understanding, reach and benefit of PropTech in the property industry.

This year the list was compiled in association with the UK PropTech Association, the trade body set up in February; in addition to property investment platform LendInvest, two UKPA figures - chairman Eddie Holmes and Estate Agent Today contributor and PropTech consultant James Dearsley - were on the judging panel.

Dan Hughes, director of data and information product management for RICS, has been named the top PropTech Influencer of the Year. Hughes was recognised for his commitment to stimulating thought-provoking debate on PropTech.

Professor Andrew Baum of Oxford University took second place, after authoring PropTech 3.0, a much-discussed document in the field of PropTech.

Third was digital strategist Antony Slumbers, while fourth was Gary Chimwa, the organiser behind Future:PropTech events.

Estate Agent Today editor Graham Norwood was in 14th spot and reached the top 25 because, according to the judges, he was willing to spread PropTech through the pages of EAT and its sister publication Letting Agent Today, as well as on his Twitter @propertyjourn account. [Thanks very much! - Ed]

“We were staggered by the hundreds of nominations we received this year, not just in the UK but from overseas too. As digital transformation in property becomes more universally accepted, its influence is becoming borderless, and that’s reflected in this year’s list” says Christian Faes, co-founder and chief executive of LendInvest.

UKPA chair Eddie Holmes adds: “It’s great to see a lot of new faces in this year’s PropTech Influencer List. The list is increasingly helpful for property firms looking to understand the PropTech industry better, and understand the opportunities it can offer them.”
