New portal launches - and it appears to be free to agents to list

A new portal called Housemap has launched and says it is free to agents.

It’s a clean, attractive looking portal which already has links with suppliers providing online tools to users.

It claims to have 500,000 properties listed already, including those from agents which also list on - and helped create - OnTheMarket, despite such a listing apparently breaking the ‘one other portal only’ rule.

“Our new PropTech startup aims to revolutionise the selling, letting and buying process, by eliminating fees for listing homes on mainstream property portals. Reducing the cost of selling and letting homes, by over £400 per month, that each estate agent pays per branch” says the website.

“Furthermore, our listings connect the buyer/ renter to the seller/ landlord directly. When a user selects a property of interest, the user is taken to the full listing at the original source, be it a classifieds, developer’s or an agent’s site.

“Not only does the user find a more detailed listing but this also allows us to give the buyer access to newer and more recent listings than that usually found on traditional portals. By connecting to the site directly, there is no delay caused by manually listing to the portal (we do this automatically)” it continues.

The site contains general property tips and area guides, and in the ‘About Us’ section says: “[The site is a]free listings property directory and portal for Real Estate Agents, Letting Agents, Owners, New Home Developers and Auctioneers. Our search results link through to the agent’s site, where users can see the full listing, meaning that we deliver more listings faster to those looking for a home.”
