Amazon success for new book on transforming the agency industry

A new book written by a PropTech expert and assessing the state of the industry has hit the Amazon best sellers’ list for business books.

Where Did My Industry Go has been written by Mark Burgess, chief executive and founder of Iceberg Digital, a marketing and social media management firm specialising in work with estate and letting agents.

The book explains how agencies can address key issues in the industry now, and how processes can be reinvented to allow firms to move ahead of their rivals.

Shortly after release the book hit number six in Amazon’s Business books section, as well as grabbing the number one spot for new releases - since then it has also risen to number five in the league table for Business books on Strategy.

“My first experience of an agency was back in the mid-1990s. Over all those years I have always remained connected to the estate agency industry in one way or another but the crazy thing is that although my journey over the years has been one of discovery and development, the estate agency industry itself has remained largely unchanged” says Burgess.

“The techniques and technology being used in the big wide world seem to have somehow passed traditional estate agency by and I am on a mission to bring that tech, process and reasoning into estate agency and help traditional agents modernise their business” he adds.

Over the past 25 years Burgess has worked as an agent, advisor and business consultant.
