ZPG says over 1,000 agency branches have rejoined after quitting OnTheMarket

ZPG says that the number of estate agency branches that left to join OnTheMarket but have now returned has reached over 1,000.

Agencies began leaving ZPG's Zoopla and PrimeLocation portals in 2015 with the arrival of OnTheMarket; OTM's parent company Agents' Mutual is scheduled to float on the London Stock Exchange in the near future.

However, a statement from ZPG this morning says that over 1,000 branches have now returned. "During the same period [since 2015] ZPG’s UK agency branch numbers have grown to over 14,750, OTM has seen their branch numbers fall from a high of 6,500 branches to a new low of 5,500 branches."

The most recent agencies to re-join ZPG include 11 Martin & Co branches, six Hurford Salvi Carr branches in London and five Andrew Milsom branches covering the Thames Valley and Chiltern Hills.

ZPG has also signed long term listing agreements with the UK’s two largest agency groups, Countrywide and Connells.

"We are continuing to see agencies from around the country re-joining ZPG on a weekly basis as agents increasingly understand that they are at a competitive disadvantage when not partnering with us. With the best value portals, most advanced software and widest range of tools to help agents gain exposure and generate additional revenues, our proposition continues to go from strength to strength," says Mark Goddard, MD of ZPG Property Services.

OTM has been asked for its comments.
