A new portal has been launched aimed at marketing ex-council properties for sale or to let through agencies.
Ex-Council.com says it is aiming at an audience of investors and first time buyers who may be interested in buying or renting such units.
It says there are 2.77m ex-council properties in the UK - that’s one in 10 of all residential units - and that the sale of a proportion of them brings in over £460m in commission for agents each year.
In Scotland, the figure is even higher at 21 per cent of stock, with Northern Ireland and Wales coming in at 16 per cent and 10 per cent respectively.
“Now agents can secure their local postcode districts to exclusively use the distinctive portal’s logos and branding, using them to prove their expertise in selling and letting this type of property” says a statement from the portal.
“Imagine having exclusive access to leads from these sellers and landlords via a site that is already on page one of Google for these search terms – and, in some cases, at the very top. With unique marketing instruction packs and a significant national advertising campaign planned for the rest of 2017, if you’ve ever sold or let ex-council property you’re going to want to see what Ex-Council has to offer” according to Tracy Anderson, the portal’s client relations manager.
