New appointments announced by several agencies

Despite growing concern about the health of the housing market, a string of estate agencies have made appointments this week.

Connells Residential has appointed Paul Capehorn as managing director of its Central division, after 17 years with the company.

Capehorn has over 30 years’ experience within the industry; he started his Connells career as Sutton Coldfield branch manager before becoming Area Partner for Birmingham in 2008 and Senior Area Director for Birmingham and the West Midlands in 2010, and then Regional Director for the South East in 2012.

He will have responsibility for a network of 86 branches stretching from Warwickshire in the north to Sussex in the south, and across from Wiltshire to Suffolk.

Meanwhile in Prime Central London, Knight Frank has promoted Harry Dawes to head up its eight-strong sales team in Knightsbridge. He takes over from Rupert des Forges

following his move to head up the Prime Central London Developments team.

Dawes has over fourteen years’ experience in the prime central London market, specialising in the sale of properties in Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea.

He joined Knight Frank in 2013 having spent ten years with boutique agency Hobart Slater. A year after joining, he became a partner at Knight Frank and for the past two years has headed up the sale of flats in Knightsbridge.

Online agency eMoov has appointed former army office and Spicerhaart employee Richard Olliffe to take responsibility for its local property agents - its local representatives akin to Purplebricks' Local Property Experts.

eMoov says it's going to "drastically build out its number of boots on the ground" in the near future.

Finally the Residential Landlords Association has welcomed a new director, former Director General of the Council of Mortgage Lenders Paul Smee.

Smee is a co-opted non-executive director; in addition to his work at the CML – now UK Finance – he was Chief Executive of the Payments Council and Director General of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers.

This must be a first. News about appointments with no mention of anyone leaving Countrywide. Have they put up the "closed" or "for sale" sign?
