OnTheMarket to advertise on 40 channels in run-up to anniversary

OnTheMarket is to advertise across 40 channels this month, in the build up to its second anniversary at the end of January.

The ads - on channels including More4, E4, Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports and Sky News - will be in addition to what the portal calls its “heavyweight investment in paid search on Google.”

A statement from OTM chief executive Ian Springett says: “As we approach the portal’s second birthday, we look forward to building on our successes and we remain as committed as ever to our long-term strategic objective of building the best portal for agents and consumers alike.”

The portal - which a year ago released a string of testimonials, some of them from its founders - has released a set of new testimonials, this time from a series of independent estate and letting agents.

One is from Peter Symons, senior partner at Stags which has offices across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset, who says OTM provides 25 per cent of his firm’s portal leads.

“Considering that OnTheMarket is so young, we see its impact and performance as absolutely outstanding. It provides our 20 offices with very good quality leads and we believe it is therefore good value for money. I believe that OnTheMarket attracts a high proportion of its visits from strongly committed buyers rather than casual browsers."

Tim des Forges, a sales director at JLL in Knightsbridge, says: “In terms of the volume of quality leads, OnTheMarket performs better for us than Rightmove.”

Simon Hill, managing director of the 14-office Michael Graham agency in the East Midlands and south of England, says: “The enquiries we receive from OnTheMarket tend to be of a very high quality. The impact of removing our properties from Zoopla has been minimal because the leads we received were often from casual browsers who were not genuine buyers or tenants.”

OTM’s Ian Springett says the endorsements show “just how far OnTheMarket has come, and how it continues to progress and perform for its agents.”

The statement made no reference to hits or member numbers.

Give up OTM, it's getting sad

Sounds like a more promising ad campaign - Sky Sports, Sky News and Sky Atlantic aren't bad channels to advertise on. Better than advertising on Dave!

  • Kristjan Byfield

Sounds like a lot of money being spent! Ouch!

  • Ayyaz Choudry

They need to advertise on the Disney channel as its a Mickey Mouse portal.
