Winkworth estate agency in the west London suburb of Chiswick is currently marketing a home with a difference - because all profits from the property will be given by the vendor to local charities.
Veteran charity entrepreneur Charlotte Grobien, who some 12 years ago set up the ‘Give it Away’ property development initiative, has since then raised some £1.7m through the redevelopment of residential properties around south and west London.
It has all be given to local charities.
In her latest exercise, Charlotte purchased 10 Arnott Close, situated close to Chiswick High Road, in August 2016; the property has since then undergone significant refurbishment inside and out, including being extended into the roof space to include a third bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Charlotte found the construction site manager after it came to light that she previously supplied his daughter with a complex motorised wheelchair via the Whizz-Kidz charity.
“I am delighted to be working with Winkworth on this who have been thoroughly engaged with the project from the start. They are keen to raise as much money as possible through the sale of Arnott Close and I am looking forward to seeing the outcome” she says. The agency is believed to be charging the charity only a token amount for its work.
All profits from Charlotte’s developments, rentals, and refurb projects go to small, non-government funded London charities.
“I’m delighted that Charlotte walked through our door and we want to help her achieve a swift and profitable sale. This property will be helping a considerable number of families who need practical assistance both in the short and long term. I hope this will lead to many more property projects together” says Michael Cooley, Winkworth’s local sales manager in Chiswick.
