Estate agent dies after being knifed in the neck on holiday

Media reports from Cyprus say a young Kent estate agent has been stabbled to death on the final night of a holiday in the resort of Ayia Napa.

George Low, 22, is said to have suffered fatal wounds to his neck after being attacked on the street as he walked back to his hotel in the early hours of Saturday morning. A friend with him was also knifed in the back by two attackers, but his injuries were less serious.

One report says Low had intervened on behalf of an English tourist allegedly being harassed by two men earlier in the evening.

Low, who worked at Acorn Estate Agents in Dartford, is believed to have previously worked as a club manager at Ayia Napa but had returned to the UK to pursue a career as an agent.

Comments from colleagues and friends on social media express their shock at the news. Lewis Taylor says: "I can't believe this...I will miss you buddy. It also makes me feel so lucky to have got home safe after being attacked with a knife in Napa a couple of years ago. This world is a scary place."

Ashley James Hayes says: "Genuinely can't believe this, was having a laugh and a joke with him a few hours before. Rest in peace bro, will be truly missed."
