Agencies announce expansions across UK and across all sector

Several agencies have unveiled expansion plans despite the EU referendum, economic uncertainty and fears of a major downturn in the London market.

London residential and commercial agency Currell has acquired a 5,000 square foot commercial space in Hackney Wick, east London. Part will become a new office for the agency, to open in late 2016 and providing sales, lettings, new homes, commercial agency and property management.

“The nearby Here East digital quarter, when fully operational in 2018, will bring over 7500 workers and £340m to the local community” suggests chief executive Anne Currell.

Meanwhile Bidwells’ new Heritage Team, which was launched earlier this year, has already doubled in size. The team, which is part of the Planning Division, provides a wide range of expertise relating to historic buildings and areas as well as research and design advice.

Services provided by the team include conservation management, advice on alterations and extensions to heritage assets, and design advice in relation to listed buildings and conservation areas.

Bidwells says over 80 per cent of its across-the-board activites take place in the ‘golden triangle’ between Oxford, Cambridge and London.

In the westcountry, Exeter agency Burgoynes has set up a lettings department.

Owner John Burgoyne says the time is right “to build the lettings side of our business the way we have with our residential sales department over the last 12 years, keeping the clients' needs and interests very much our priority at all times."
