Expansions and appointments announced at growing agencies

A number of estate and letting agents have this week announced key appointments and business expansions.

Estate agency John Shepherd is set to open its first branch in Birmingham city centre.

The firm's chairman, John Shepherd, will be involved in the day-to-day running of the group's seventh office in the Midlands.

Meanwhile, Andrew's Estates reports that it is now the largest independent estate agent in Wirral after its acquisition of Cathy Behan Estate Agents in Bebington.

The new branch brings its office total to six and it says it has now superseded Clive Watkins – which was recently bought by Countrywide – to become the largest independent in its patch.

“We are delighted to be adding this prime location to the family," says Andrew Smith, managing director of Andrew's Estates.

“We will be re-branding the office, introducing a lettings side to the branch [and] upgrading our website," he says.

Bradley Hall, an agency based in the North East, has opened its fifth branch which will be run by the firm's Northumberland team.

The new office is in Morpeth and the agency has appointed two new members of staff to help with the extra workload.

There have also been several appointments.

Humberts has announced the capture of Nicola Palfrey to its rural team. The qualified chartered surveyor and agricultural valuer joins after three years with Stags in the South West.

In London, Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings – which recently opened its fifteenth branch – has appointed Adam Seyman as manager of its flagship branch in Hampstead.
