TODAY'S OTHER NEWS

Another county estate agency joins OnTheMarket

Watsons, a six branch firm with offices in Norfolk, is joining OnTheMarket; it’s the second chain in the county to join in recent weeks.

“We believe Rightmove and OnTheMarket will prove to be the best combination for the marketing of our customers’ homes” says Nick Eley, a partner at Watsons.

Recently Arnold Keys - another mostly-Norfolk agency chain led by a former president of the National Association of Estate Agents - signed up to OTM as well.

OTM says it has the support of over 6,500 estate and letting agency offices; this includes formal members and those that have signed letters of intent.

Earlier this week OTM launched an overseas property service on which the 'one other portal only' rule will not be applied.

Really?? Earth-shattering news in our world I suppose.

Hang on, I thought OTM were dying a slow death? That's what I'm always being told when I visit this comment section.

If OTM wants to succeed it needs to put out this sort of trade PR - letting other agents know that other agents are signing up. Simple logic really.

Headline reads "Watsons get £50 On the Market contract" Lets see if they are still there in a year

    Ryan Bennett

I would prefer that Watsons got the contract for free if meant the continued success of onthemarket.com in areas where onthemarket is not currently the 2nd portal! I think agents need to play the long term game with onthemarket.

We have seen a massive rise in leads from onthemarket.com in the past couple of months and they are actually good quality , which is much better than last year. OTM say they are very quickly approaching the point of being the 2nd portal. I'm glad we don't have to deal with Zoopla reps any more quite frankly as all they did is put up prices for no apparent reason and expected us to pay it. We had to give notice to Zoopla in the end to stop them from putting the prices up. OTM isn't going to die any time soon, it's the polar opposite here in Exeter!
