Agents Do Charity - with just a week to go before Easter

The Budget's over, Easter is a week away, and agents are preparing for the busiest time of year - whatever the Chancellor throws at us.

Here's our weekly tribute to those in our industry who do their bit for others; please doff your caps to these agents and, if you are also doing something for charity, do please let us know by emailing press@estateagenttoday.co.uk.

In the meantime, here's this week's tribute...

MacMillan Cancer Support: Walking just under the length of a marathon every day for 12 days, from one side of England to another - that's the challenge facing Matt Dixon who co-founded Essex agency Geoffrey Matthew Estates in 1993.

He's embarking on the Coast2Coast Challenge next month with the aim of raising £12,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research. The 200-mile trek begins at St Bees on the Cumbrian coast, crosses the Lake District at Grasmere, before heading across the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, until the final destination, Robin Hood's Bay, five miles south of Whitby.

Donations to Matt's Coast2Coast challenge can be made online at www.justgiving.com/teams/matt-heath-coast2coast

Rockcliff under-12s: The club has secured new sponsorship from coastal letting company Letsafe. The agency's managing director Raymond Blake presented the squad with their new strips.

“Letsafe are proud to be associated with the successful Rockcliff U12 rugby team. We wish them every success for the rest of the season. We are pleased to have the Letsafe name on the teams shirts" he says.

Moorfields Eye Hospital: Stephen Chambers from Northwood's Romford office, along with his wife, has been on a 14 mile sponsored walk for Moorfields Eye Hospital, going from the hospital to the London Eye. They did a time of 4 hours 3 minutes on their fund-raising for this great cause.

In addition, the same Northwood office is collecting Easter eggs along with Time Fm for children who may not normally get one - go along, donate an egg, and get into the charity spirit!

The curry night on Tuesday was a great success raising £610 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research. Supporting you all the way Matt, as I'm sure your fellow businessmen and estate agents nationwide will do too. All the best for a cause so dear to your heart.
