Countrywide hires high-powered ex-BBC ex-DFS marketing guru

Estate Agent Today understands that one of the country’s most successful marketing experts, Helen Normoyle, is set to join Countrywide as the agency group’s Marketing and Customer Services Director.

Normoyle is joining from furnishings giant DFS where she has been Chief Marketing Officer responsible for brand building, marketing, research and insight and communications. Before that she was Director of Marketing and Audiences at the BBC.

Prior to those posts she was Director of Market Research and Director of Media Literacy and Convergent Media at the Ofcom regulatory body, and Director of Marketing and Director of Global Insight and Product Marketing at Motorola.

Normoyle’s appointment is the latest to the Countrywide board from outside of the traditional estate agency and property establishment. The appointment conforms with the view of Countrywide’s chief executive - Alison Platt - that her company has to be more customer-focussed and has to become increasingly retail-centric in its structure.

Normoyle is expected to take up her new post next month.

Oh dear. Insight and communications eh?? Nice to see that Countrywide money is being spent ib the right places....

I think it would be more of a news story if Countrywide went a week without hiring someone! It's hard to keep up with who's who and who's no longer in a position and which ex Tesco or BBC or CompareTheMarket executive has joined the Countrywide bandwagon. Too much for my poor old brain to process.
