easyProperty to launch Land and New Homes division

Online estate agency easyProperty is marking the start of 2016 by launching a Land and New Homes division.

“It’s obviously one of the residential market’s growing sectors with substantial new housebuilding volumes and we want to be part of that” Rob Ellice, chief executive of the agency has told Estate Agent Today.

“There will be more details available [later] in the New Year” he says.

It is thought this involvement with new build property may extend to easyProperty’s lettings service getting involved in new Build To Rent schemes in some major cities across the UK.

Just before Christmas the agency announced it had secured a £16m investment from a London-based asset manager, with an additional £9m to be available to support acquisitions by easyProperty.

Sold or let any houses yet, easyProperty? That's what we really want to know, not these endless expansions or branch outs into areas where they seem to have no expertise.

Good luck with the new venture guys.

Stories about easyProperty are becoming rather tiresome now as of late. I have to agree with @Jon, we so far have had no real indication of how they have performed across 2015, which is rather bizarre. They're usually quick to shout their successes from the rooftop!

After all we've seen of late with the government's targeting of lettings and private landlords - perhaps getting involved with institutional lettings is a smart move for agents - particularly those like EP which don't really have any market share. If what they go ahead with what is alluded to above, it could be a shrewd move.
