Ex-Foxtons director now heading London agency chain

A former director of Foxtons has been appointed chief executive of a high-profile London estate agency chain.

James Evans takes up the role as chief executive of Douglas & Gordon in November.

Evans was responsible for Foxton’s south London activities for 10 years and was in the senior management team that handled Foxtons sale to private equity in 2007 and its Stock Exchange listing in 2013.

“For many years I have admired Douglas & Gordon as a high quality estate agency with a trusted brand founded on the integrity and quality of its customer service” says Evans in the press release announcing his appointment.

Douglas & Gordon chairman Michael Hodgson describes Evans as having “an intimate knowledge of the estate agency world and how successful companies work.”
