£15m HQ answers prayer for Moneypenny

Moneypenny, the telephone answering firm handling 1.2m calls a year for 850 estate and letting agents – has unveiled designs for a new £15m headquarters.

The 9,000 square foot office, which is being built in Wrexham, will boast a treehouse, a village pub, and a triple height 8,000 sq ft atrium with a restaurant and stadium seating. It will also enjoy a 10 acre plot with nature trails, orchards, vegetable gardens and stunning views over the surrounding countryside.

With space to house up to 1,000 staff the development demonstrates a significant investment for the company. Pochin’s Construction has been chosen as the contractor and work is expected to be finished on the development in spring 2016.

The new campus will also be one of the most environmentally sustainable commercial projects in the country. By using rainwater recycling, solar energy, ground source heating and natural ventilation for climate control, the company aims to be almost entirely self-sufficient.

Moneypenny’s commercial director, Joanna Swash, says: “From the outset it’s been Moneypenny’s aim to deliver an excellent service and set the benchmark for our industry. Our new headquarters will be a natural progression of this and we will be able to offer our property clients, who account for our second largest sector, a truly unrivalled environment in which to handle their calls.”

This latest announcement comes on the back of the company’s launch into the US market in February.

You can't argue with their ambition. Loving the environmentally sustainable element too - can the government follow suit?

The mock-ups certainly look good. Will be interesting to see if it's finished by spring 2016 - that's not quite as long away as it sounds!

Looks swish. You certainly can't deny their ambition, but I'm a little sceptical about this 2016 completion date. Seems like a lot of work to do in that time.
