Vendor to drop asking price £1,000 a week until flat sells

A Liverpool vendor is putting his one-bedroom home on the market today for £65,000 through a local estate agent - but has already said he will reduce its price by £1,000 a week until it sells.

The home, a retirement community apartment in Roby Court in the Huyton area of the city, is being marketed through the Cameron Mackenzie estate agency.

But seller John Parker has told the Liverpool Echo that he plans to drop the price, in the belief that buyers will be reluctant to hold their nerve too long before making an offer.

“The main reason I decided to sell it in this way is just to raise awareness and get people talking about it. It’s a great property and it’s already cheaper than others that have sold in the same apartment block, so I’m sure it won’t be around for too long” he has told the Echo.

Some properties in the same block have previously sold for as much as £87,000.

The buyer will get access to a communal garden and patio area, and will enjoy a communal lounge, 24 hour emergency response system and a guest room with en-suite for visitors.

This is exactly the sort of initiative that's needed in the market currently. All agents, please take careful note!
