Zoopla offers agents new revenue stream through utility switching

Zoopla Property Group, which earlier this year snapped up comparison website uSwitch, is launching a new marketing scheme allowing agents to earn additional revenue from home switching services.

A statement from ZPG says this is “the first in a series of initiatives” following the uSwitch acquisition “and will enable members to offer existing audience and customers additional value by giving them access to savings on home related utilities” like gas and electricity.

Few details have been released by ZPG but the portal says the scheme is offered on a limited-availability basis at no extra cost to agency members.

“ZPG will work closely with the participants who successfully make it onto the pilot scheme and provide marketing assets, such as text links, banners and widgets to help offer additional value via their websites, newsletters and other channels to promote home services switching to their customers” says the portal.

Jon Notley, chief commercial officer, says once the first members have started marketing this way, there will be a wider roll-out next year.

“Not only could this create an additional revenue stream, but ZPG members will be able to give their customers an opportunity to make significant savings on home related services. We are very excited about the opportunity to provide a genuine unique selling point to our members, help increase their revenues, and importantly help consumers save a significant sum on their household bills" he says.
