Estate agency remains one of the most generous sectors for donating to charities in the UK giving £13m in the past year, and Agents Giving is this week revealing its latest list of Fundraising Champions.

These include:

  • Urban and Rural agency in Bedfordshire which raised £5,000 by taking on the daunting challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro;
  • Paramount in north west London, which donated 25 per cent of one month's lettings fees and volunteered at a local homeless shelter;
  • Andrews in Eastbourne raised over £3,000 at their Christmas Cake Bake;
  • myhomemove which raised raised £7,000 through a charity auction and which sponsored the Great British Property Cycle last year; and
  • Whitegates, with branches across the Midlands, north of England and parts of Wales, doing sky diving, charity runs and coffee mornings for charities.

Agents Giving was launched as The Estate Agency Foundation seven years ago but this year was rebranded as Agents Giving, with Phil Spencer as its patron and Peter Knight as its chairman.

    Agents are often dismissed as only caring about money. Clearly that isn't the case. We are mostly a bunch of hard-working people, perhaps without that many airs and graces, who want to 'get on', earn their way and give something back. Good article EAT!!
