What is Meyers and what does it do? 

We offer a turnkey estate agency franchise which is not on the high street.  We keep the set-up cost low, as agents mainly work from home so there are minimal overheads.  Although we welcome those with property experience, it’s not necessary as all training is provided and our system is really easy to learn.  Some of our successful agents have previously worked as hairdressers and fire fighters!  As agents become more successful, they take on other self-employed staff to enable them to grow their territories.

What services do you offer and in what ways do you work with estate and letting agents? 

We are an established online estate agency but at the same time not online!  In other words, we don’t have the overheads of high street locations and we take advantage of all the online sales tools to advertise properties but we are based in the community and our knowledge of the local area is second to none.  We have nine franchisees who focus on providing a premium service and helping property owners sell fast, and we are expanding.

What makes your product different and how does it benefit agents?

Our service is based on an Australian and US estate agency model and benefits our franchised agents by helping clients get the best local price for property quickly.  It means they can command a good fee structure without an expensive high street office.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

Watching people grow amazing lives using our franchised system.  We want to revolutionise the British estate agency landscape and it’s happening!

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Being at home or work when I’m needed.  I’m in control of my destiny and can spend as much time with my kids as possible!

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing estate and letting agents at the moment?

Proptech and portals taking away the value of traditional estate agents.  It’s challenging to keep a high fee in a cheapening market.  However, we’ve worked out how to do this and it’s working for our franchisees who achieved record sales last year.

What is your property prediction for 2021?

At the moment, we are based on the South Coast although the franchise is expanding nationally.  Here, there is huge demand for houses and not enough coming onto the market.  With supply blocking demand the only way is up, so my prediction is between 15-20% increase on house prices on the south coast in the next year.

Country house or city apartment?  I would have to have both!

Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden?  English Garden.  Cider and BBQ with friends and family in the sunshine can’t be beaten!

Would you rather be a free-moving tenant or settled owner occupier? 

Owner occupier.

What is your favourite room in your home? 

Our kitchen where all the best things come to the table.  I love cooking!

Homes under the Hammer or Location, Location, Location? 

I found minor fame once as an agent on Homes Under the Hammer, so that would have to be my choice!
