An estate agent involved in a serious skiing accident over the holiday season is making slow but steady progress - but has still managed to call the office to check on sales, even from his hospital bed.

EAT recently reported that Darren Lawson, director of Mansbridge and Balment, was airlifted to hospital in an induced coma after sustaining a serious head injury on the slopes in France. On Christmas Eve he was transferred to a hospital in Plymouth.

His family have sent their heartfelt thanks for all the support they have received.

The company's Facebook page says: He has made slow but steady progress since then but is awake and conversing with friends and family.

Whilst his speech is laboured, his mind is active and he can make conversation - even managing to phone the city office to check on the progress of recent sales.

Whilst the road to recovery will be a long one, the support he has received has been a real comfort to him and his family and they send their heartfelt thanks.

We are hoping that Darren will be moved to a local specialist rehabilitation unit in the next week or so to continue his progress. We shall give further updates along the way.
