I became an estate agent becauseMy mum and dad bought a house when I was 16 and the agent who turned up had a red BMW 325i Sport with alloy wheels and I wanted a red BMW. I thought he was the coolest man in the world, other than my dad of course.

The biggest threat to our industry isGovernment interference with mansion tax, HIPS, landlord administration fees and other unnecessary red tape.

My proudest moment in estate agency isManaging my first office at 18.

My biggest mistake in estate agency isNot taking more risks. We are really good at what we do but I feel that we could challenge ourselves more.

The most stressful part of my job isSpending so much time away from my family. I have three children and they are growing very, very fast.

If I could change one thing about estate agency it would beEnsuring that people who work in the industry are qualified to a certain standard.

My one piece of advice for young agents isListen to your customers, do what you say you're going to do and deliver on time.

The best thing about being an estate agent isMaking people happy - you move people and make their dreams come true in this industry and that is the beauty of it.
