Another day, another round of mergers and acquisitions as the housing market's durability encourages expansion in the industry.

Century 21 has opened yet another office in the UK, this time at Queensbury in north west London - it has taken over the independent agency previously trading as Hab and Kal Properties.

Rob Clifford, Century 21 chief executive, says two more offices in undisclosed locations will open later this month. We are also significantly growing our footprint in Greater London he says.

Meanwhile the independent West Midlands agency Knightstone is being rebranded in the latest move in the expansion of Hunters in the region. This follows the recent merger with Hunters Group Limited, and gives Hunters nine branches across the West Midlands.

And still in the West Midlands, two agents have merged to strengthen their offer around Edgbaston, Harborne, Moseley and Selly Park.

Robert Powell, a family business established in the 1980s, has joined forces with Bowkett Briggs. The company behind the new venture will continue to operate under the Robert Powell brand.
